Projects - Data Centre Chiller - Illumina

This project was for the supply, manufacture & installation
of a chilled water pipe work system used in a single story data center.

PAC Fabrications were responsible for the manufacture of all pipework as well as buffer vessel skid fabrication and pre-assembly. The system was designed to be scalable with space for one more buffer vessel and heat exchanger.

All work was carried out off site at the PAC facilities. The pump room was also assembled by PAC Fabrication with a third party assembling the GRP structure at PAC site. This pre-fabricated modular unit was then loaded onto a lorry along with two other lorry loads and delivered to site which required specific design and planning for the lifting gantry as detailed below:

All structural metalwork was designed and fabricated by PAC. Modular sections had to be manufactured small enough to be dip galvanised with finished sections bolted together.

NDT of all welds was carried out with final hydraulic water pressure testing on completion.
